I’m Shaun, a photographer based in Bend, Oregon, who specializes in capturing people and places.

Six years ago, I stole my brothers camera and went on my first trip to bottom of the world. There, in Patagonia, is where I discovered my interest in photography. Traveling to remote locations has always been something that has piqued my curiosity and presented me with indescribable experiences with views and people. Following this trip, I found myself struggling to remember things little and big that made the trip so special. Looking back through my SD card and editing my photos became the most meaningful way I could reflect on a trip. After a certain amount of trips, the amount of photos got out of hand to keep track of. I wanted somewhere I could highlight my favorite photos to remind me of the beautiful places and people I met along the way. That was how ‘Shaun’s Collection’ started.

Since that first trip to Patagonia, I travelled back 4 times as a expedition guide for university groups. These trips helped me build my portfolio as well as experience shooting in some of the most complicated and dynamic environments you can imagine. Overtime, more opportunities presented themself to work with my camera and I kept saying yes. I started with a Hawaii Elopement (crazy I know) and began booking weddings after that.

Today, I no longer steal cameras for my shoots. I bring my camera with me on all my travels with the hope of just catching a good sunset or a cool portrait of a friend. When I am back home, I work with couples, families, and businesses to capture whatever is most important to them.
